Advanced Shading for Sink Marks Visualization in Moldflow Plastics Advisers 7.1

Moldflow Plastics Advisers (MPA) products are ideal tools for part designers — even those who have little plastics experience — to quickly verify manufacturability and quality issues for plastics applications. However, when it comes to identifying and eliminating visual defects such as sink marks, accurate visual representation of the part surface can be as critical as the numerical results.

MPA 7.1 products include new Advanced Shading capability, a state-of-the-art feature for visualizing molded-in surface defects. With Advanced Shading activated, you can now view analysis results rendered with photo-realistic lighting and texturing. This helps to identify surface defects more easily and determine their potential visual severity.

Look for the Advanced Shading option under the Results > Show... menu pick.

Advanced Shading makes use of OpenGL 2.0 Shader Language extensions and is available to users with 24-bit displays and graphics cards supporting OpenGL 2.0. If your system meets these requirements and you want to use the new Advanced Shading feature, please visit your graphics card manufacturer's Web site and install the latest reference drivers for your graphics card.
