Latest Releases of Moldflow Design Analysis Software Support Enterprise-Enabled Vision

The latest releases of Moldflow Plastics Insight® (MPI®) and Moldflow Plastics Advisers® (MPA®) products support the company’s vision of enterprise-enabled simulation to optimize plastic product development processes.

New features and enhancements implemented in the MPI 6.2 and MPA 8.1 releases make these products accessible to more users and configurable for specific needs, support integration into organizational workflow, and enhance communication within and outside the user community.

Changes common to both MPI 6.2 and MPA 8.1 include these:

Complete 64-bit solution: In MPI 6.2 and MPA 8.1, both the graphical user interface (GUI) and the analysis solvers natively support 64-bit operating systems (in previous releases, the GUI was a 32-bit application running on a 64-bit operating system). This enables more efficient handling of large models and improves overall product performance on Windows x64-based platforms.
Microsoft Windows Vista® support: Support for Windows Vista Business, Enterprise and Ultimate Editions is added in MPI 6.2 and MPA 8.1.
Microsoft Office® 2007 support: Project reports generated in Word and PowerPoint formats are compatible with Microsoft Office 2007 Edition.
Configurable workspace options: Task-specific user interface configurations can be saved and shared among various stakeholders across the enterprise.
Product consistency enhancements: MPI 6.2 and MPA 8.1 introduce terminology changes which have been implemented to improve consistency within each product and across all Moldflow products. Within each product, these changes reduce differences between online Help topics and what is displayed in the user interface, and also unify terms used to refer to similar features of the Dual Domain™ and 3D analysis technologies. Across Moldflow products, these changes reduce product-specific differences in terms referring to similar analysis technologies, analysis sequences and results.
Moldflow Communicator compatibility: MPI 6.2 and MPA 8.1 Revision 3 support export of Moldflow Results (*.mfr) files that can be viewed in Moldflow Communicator 2.0. Moldflow Communicator is a free utility developed specifically for visualizing, quantifying and comparing Moldflow Results files.
